Education Qualification : - 

Agniveer (General Duty) : - Class 10th /Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate of five basic subjects and min 33% marks in each of those five subjects. For boards following grading system, grades commensurate to percentages, as above, will be considered. Indian Gorkhas – Class 10th Simple Pass. Note: Candidates with valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV)/Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving License will be given preference for Driver requirements.

Age : - 17½ - 22 Years

Agniveer (Technical) : - 10+2/Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Maths and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. OR 10+2 /Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Maths & English from any recognized State Education Board or Central Education Board to include NIOS and ITI course of one year in any field with NSQF level 4 or above. OR Passed two years vocational courses with non-vocational subjects viz Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by Central/State/UT Government with 50% in aggregate. The fields for vocational subjects (NEP 2020) to be related to Science and Tech as mentioned below:-

Age : - 17½ - 22 Years

Agniveer (Clerk / Store Keeper Technical) : - 10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and minimum 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class XII is mandatory.

Age : - 17½ - 22 Years

Agniveer Tradesmen (All Arms) : - Simple 10th pass (No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored 33% in five basic subjects).

Simple 8th pass (No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored 33% in five basic subjects).

Age : - 17 ½ - 22 Years

Date of Birth: Candidates born between 01 Jul 2005 to 01 Jul 2009 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply under Agnipath Scheme.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS  : - 

AGNIVEER will be enrolled in the Indian Army under Indian Army Act 1950 for a period of four years. AGNIVEER would form a distinct rank in the Indian Army, different from any other existing ranks. Indian Army is not obliged to retain AGNIVEER beyond the engagement period of four years. On completion of four years of service, based on organization’s requirements and policies promulgated by the Indian Army, AGNIVEER will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the Indian Army. These applications will be considered in a centralized manner based on objective criteria including performances during their four year engagement period and upto 25% of each specific batch of AGNIVEER will be enrolled in regular cadre of Indian Army. AGNIVEER will not have any right to be selected for further enrolment into the Indian Army. Selection of the AGNIVEER for further enrolment, if any, shall be at the discretion of the Indian Army.
